Home Road Trippin' in Australia Australian Campsites

Australian Campsites

As we travel the wide land of Australia with our portable first home, we intend to share our findings and experiences in order to assist others doing the same. However we found ourselves increasingly driven by the amount of commercial holiday parks who only or primarily cater for Big Rigs, RVs and Caravans, with the tents being shoved in the middle somewhere as an afterthought. We also wanted to showcase the great parks, who make camping what it should be; relaxing, quiet, a chance to connect with nature and offer a comfortable home base. Our public service is sending out warnings to other tent campers about those parks who are not tent-friendly. You know the ones. You turn up and are the only tent, surrounded by 200 RVs, all with their TVs or generators going. Or you are put on a small site because you’re only a tent, yet somehow are paying the same or only a couple of dollars less than those moving mansions next to you. Or worse still, the parks who only have sites with concrete slabs on them. Grrr…. So read on to find out about our experience touring Australian in our little tent, and may it make yours just that little bit better also.
