In short, we’re not rich. This will be a working holiday. In both an effort to keep our finances in-check and to assist you our there, dear readers, we are recording every penny that flows in and our of our wallets and plastic cards. Of course your situation will never be the same as ours, I am lucky enough to be traveling with a chef (thanks Chile!) however also have the misfortune of being deathly allergic to shellfish and hence do not eat seafood at all. If I were not, we could significantly cut down our food budget by spending an hour a day fishing, or by eating the occasional cheap pub meal or fish and chips on the beach. But we cannot. So we cook, every night, unless by some miracle there is a vegetarian restaurant/cafe in town or a burger shop that does not sell shellfish – we love a good hamburger!
